Covid-19 Information

Updated March 4, 2021

A memorandum was released on January 5th by Oregon Health Authority providing an update to Oregon’s Phase 1a Vaccination Sequencing Plan. As of January 5th, all subgroups in Phase 1a are now eligible for the vaccine including ABA providers and any paid/unpaid caregiver for an individual with disabilities. For more information on the states distribution plan please click here.

How to get a COVID-19 Vaccine as an ABA provider (RBAI, LBA) or caregiver:

  • The sign-up process for COVID-19 vaccinations in Oregon changed on March 1, 2021.
  • Instead of people signing up individually, the state has switched to an invitation system which once signed up, people will be notified when a vaccine is available for them.
  • In order to check eligibility and sign up for a vaccine invitation please use Oregon's Get Vaccinated Oregon tool and click “get started”.

If you have any additional information as to vaccine distribution please reach out to ORABA at [email protected] and we will help disseminate this knowledge.

This bill responds to the coronavirus outbreak by providing paid sick leave and free coronavirus testing, expanding food assistance and unemployment benefits, and requiring employers to provide additional protections for health care workers.

Most relevant to providers…. the bill requires the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to issue an emergency temporary standard that requires certain employers to develop and implement a comprehensive infectious disease exposure control plan to protect health care workers. The bill also includes provisions that:

  • establish a federal emergency paid leave benefits program to provide payments to employees taking unpaid leave due to the coronavirus outbreak,
  • expand unemployment benefits and provide grants to states for processing and paying claims,
  • require employers to provide paid sick leave to employees,
  • establish requirements for providing coronavirus diagnostic testing at no cost to consumers,
  • treat personal respiratory protective devices as covered countermeasures that are eligible for certain liability protections, and
  • temporarily increase the Medicaid federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP).
